Growing up, I had family that worked in the green industry, so it was naturally easy for me to do the same. I worked with American Tree Maintenance, Inc. through high school. But I knew God wanted to use me in other areas, so when I was 20 years old, I transitioned into emergency medicine/EMS. Recently, I had the opportunity to come back to ATM in a different role. The ATM board voted me in as the vice president of the company in July/2017. I spend half my week with ATM and the rest as an ER Medic or Flight Medic. I am truly getting to live in the best of both worlds. Half of my job is helping people in need, and the other half of my job is helping, not only, plants and trees, but also our customers in need! The biggest transition I have to adjust to is the change of pace. Working in the ER and outside EMS gears you to go from 0-100 mph in no time at all. It’s a welcome change to sit back and enjoy my customers and colleagues in a manner that does not require an adrenaline surge.
